Elena Rossi | Soprano
Born in Reggio Emilia (Italy), Elena Rossi pursued her musical studies at her hometown’s Conservatory “Achille Peri”.
The winner of several operatic competitions, she made her debut as Adina in Donizetti’s Elisir d’Amore, at Teatro Bonci in Cesena. She has subsequently performed leading roles in prestigious Italian and foreign theaters, such as: Teatro Regio di Torino (Tosca), Arena di Verona (Tosca, Liù in Turandot), Teatro la Fenice (La vedova scaltra, The Rake’s progress), Sferisterio di Macerata (Les Mamelles de Tirésias), Teatro Massimo di Palermo (Tosca), Teatro Antico di Taormina (Tosca) Teatro San Carlo di Napoli (Fedora), Municipal Theatre of São Paulo, Brazil (Otello), Macau Gran Theatre (Norma), National Theater of Performing Arts in Beijing (Die Lustige Witwe), New Theater of Seoul (Traviata). She was also a special guest on Andrea Bocelli’s tour and performed with him across the US, Asia, and the Middle East.
She has collaborated with famous orchestra and stage directors such as: Daniel Oren, Renato Palumbo, Asher Fish, Julian Kovachev, Andrea Battistoni, Valerio Galli, Donato Renzetti, Thomas Rosner, Guillaume Tourniaire, Enrique Mazzola, Maurizio Benini; Franco Zeffirelli, Hugo de Ana, Pier Luigi Pizzi, Giancarlo del Monaco, Damiano Michieletto, Daniele Abbado, Mario Pontiggia, David Alden.
Her upcoming engagements include: Catalani’s Loreley at Theater St. Gallen during June/July 2017, Catalani’s Messa a quattro voci at Theater St. Gallen during July 2017, Tosca at Teatro Comunale in Bologna during November/December 2017, Die lustige witwe (Hanna Glavary) at Beijing’s National Theater of Performing Arts in Beijing during January/February 2018, La Rondine (Magda) at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova during February/March 2018, Edgar (Fidelia) at Theater St. Gallen during June/July 2018.
